Encompassing every aspect of natural beauty, the Royal Sunset Resort, ‘Atata Island is an untouched tropical paradise only 20 minutes by boat ride from mainland.
This Small Boutique Resort set in 8 Acres on the 100 Acres Island of ‘Atata Island, Tongatapu. The Resort has 23 Fales all beachfront, a Restaurant & Bar with Decking, Swimming Pool and is well known for its Watersports Activities from Game/Sport Fishing, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling on the Reef.
The Royal Sunset Island Resort is a Small Boutique Resort on Atata Island off the main island of Tongatapu. Set in 8 acres on the 100 acres’ island of ‘Atata Island, Tongatapu.
The resort occupies the southern tip of ‘Atata Island, there is Fisherman Village with 150 inhabitants (2 Churches & Primary School) the rest of the island is village plantations.
Total Accommodation: 23 Fales (Bungalows) in Total
On the Western Side: 17 Western Beachfront Fales with 2 Mini Suites Fale (1 with 1 Bedroom and the other one with 2 Bedrooms) and 5 Superior Fales, 10 Standard Fales. (2 Mini Suites are New Addition and Very Popular). On the Eastern Side: there are 5 Eastern Fales which have just been put back in operation after some renovations. Another Eastern Fale – Family Fale has been renovated which gives the resort with 2 Bedrooms, Lounge, Ensuite Bathroom (for up 6 Guests)
A polynesian style restaurant and Ata bar and deck, Swimming Pool, Tennis court island style, Beach Volley Ball. Reception with small boutique and library.
Dining & Entertainment
The cuisine is the result of various cultures that reached the Polynesian islands, freshness and local flavour prevails (Fish caught daily by the One of our Staff / Villagers).
Royal Sunset offers the chance of live music and entertainment (Guitar Band and Floor show) from local village.
The surrounding sea, inside two coral barrier reefs and the effects of trade winds allow guests to enjoy an exceptional climate and give the opportunity for great kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, scubadiving, game fishing, more expert watersport enthusiasts can windsurf, kitesurf or surf the nearby spots.
From August to October humpback whales migrates from cold south to warmer Tonga’s water.
