AIRCALIN: The A330neo’s First Flight

The first of the two A330 neo long-haul aircraft ordered by AIRCALIN, registered F-ONEO, took its first flight in Toulouse on July 17, 2019.

This first flight’s purpose was to check all the aircraft’s systems as the aircraft is put into service.

During this flight, the crew performed a series of tests enabling them to check:

– the aircraft as a whole,
– the flight controls,
– the avionics,
– the engines’ performance,
– the aircraft’s behavior: its cruise performance, at low speed, at high altitude and at top speed as well as on approach,
– all the cabin systems (galley, IFE, emergency equipment, etc.)

On board, the cabin layout has been wholly designed to afford a new experience to passengers. The flight classes have been revisited; they are inspired by New Caledonia’s colors and atmospheres—the seashore in Hibiscus Business class, local plants in Premium economy class, the lagoon and tradition in Economy class.

For AIRCALIN, these two A330neo’s joining the fleet is a major milestone for the airline’s future and international air service to New Caledonia. It is a response to New Caledonia’s economic and touristic development ambitions.
